INTRODUCTION

Yvan Lacroix is the co-founder of DIY Detail and a true industry legend with decades in detailing. The brand started quietly in 2019 and spent about three years in research and development before releasing its first product and video in 2022. Built alongside his partner Nick McGurk, DIY Detail began as a consumer brand, and Yvan says roughly 60% of its sales now go to professionals.

Yvan is known for questioning the status quo, from cutting with a DA and finishing with a rotary to dry shampooing interiors instead of extracting. In his second appearance he talks about his new detailing studio, training and hiring employees, and how to become more efficient. His approach is education first: help people, and the sales follow.
